Day and night worship and prayer in every nation

Keys to Prayer

In the days of the prophet Malachi, God’s people Israel had lost sight of His holiness and majesty. The Book of Malachi opens with a prophetic rebuke to the people for their impure, half-hearted worship and unacceptable offerings. Yet in the midst of his words of correction, Malachi utters a powerful promise. There will come a day when God’s name will be honoured not only in a revived Israel, but in every nation.
The phrase “from the rising of the sun to its setting” holds a double promise. From East to West (all around the earth) and from dawn to dusk (at all times), in every nation the Lord’s name wil be honoured with pure worship. Based on this promise as well as other Scriptures, prophetic voices in the contemporary prayer movement have a vision to see day and night prayer established in every nation around the globe before Jesus returns.

  • Pray for hunger for God to increase among His people in Ottawa
  • Ask Him to give you a love for His holiness, and eyes that are fixed on the day of His returning
  • Ask the Lord to raise up centres of day and night worship and prayer in the nations of the earth and in our own city

Malachi 1:11 (ESV)

From the rising of the sun to its setting my name will be great among the nations, and in every place incense will be offered to my name, and a pure offering. For my name will be great among the nations, says the Lord of hosts.

Psalm 113:3 (ESV)

From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the Lord is to be praised!

1 Thessalonians 5:17 (ESV)

Pray without ceasing.
